So you’ve got your amazing website set up, it’s published for the whole world to see and now every single person in the world can see what kind of amazing products or services you offer. But there are a billion other websites out there, how can you help your customers find their way to your site? With a tight budget? Don’t worry, we’ll show you how to get more traffic.

  1. The first and most important way to drive traffic to your website is SEO (search engine optimization). SEO helps your site appear on the first pages of Google. If you haven’t heard, there’s a saying that nothing exists beyond the 3rd page of Google. When was the last time you went beyond the 3rd page when searching for something? So the question is, how can you do SEO? Well, your best bet is hiring professionals to do that for you, it may cost a little, but if you are going to spend money on your online marketing, than SEO should be the first thing you invest in.
  2. Two words: Social Media

What better way to get in touch with your customers and drive more traffic than social media? Whether you run a B2B or B2C type of business, a strong social media presence is a must. If you run a B2C business than think Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest. If you run a B2B business think LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ (you might think that having a Google+ account is useless, but it has proved to be effective for B2B AND it will also help you appear in search results). OK, but now you’re thinking, how do you design an effective post? What kind of post engages your audience the most? Think about posts that caught your attention. I’m willing to bet that they had a great image and an amazing headline. The other thing which is really important is having original content.

There is a whole science to social media posts which we will cover in future blog posts, so be sure to check back, or better yet, subscribe to our newsletter!

  1. Video

Research has showed that nothing engages your audience more than videos. If you want to grab the attention of your audience and drive them to your site, nothing beats video. Having great written content, amazing images is all nice but nothing compares to video. Include video in your posts, mix it up with great content and headlines and get ready for incoming traffic.

  1. Blog

Blogging is another perfect way get in touch with your audience. Use it to share tips, stories, all kinds of useful information your customers would be interested in. It doesn’t end here. Ask to be a guest blogger on other blogs in your niche. Or, since it is a two way street, ask someone to be a guest blogger on your blog.

If you’re having trouble starting a blog, or if you aren’t confident in your writing skills then just start reading other blogs or news articles and look for patterns. Don’t worry, you’ll pick it up.

  1. Podcasts

Why podcasts you ask? Does anyone listen to podcasts? The short answer is yes, they do. Podcasts are becoming more and more popular. The reason for this is that people feel deeper connection through podcasts than through blogs, they seem less crowded. It is like someone talking only to you. Another reason is that you can take podcasts with you everywhere, listen to them anywhere. You can listen to them while driving, exercising, cooking, etc. Be sure to include podcasts in your online strategy and don’t forget to offer valuable information to your audience not just jibber-jabber.

  1. Take a look at your competition

Researching your competition is essential in every type of business. Take a look at their strategies. What do they use to engage their customers? What specific channels do they use? How can you make use of or improve those strategies?

  1. Interview influencers in your niche

You probably know who the leaders and influencers are in your niche. Ask them for an interview and then include that interview on you blog, podcasts, social media posts. If you think they won’t talk to you, then you will be surprised to see how much people like to talk about themselves.

Pay close attention though to the e-mail you send them, it has to be really well written, otherwise they will just delete it. There are strategies for writing such e-mails, which we will cover in another post, so be sure to check back.

  1. E-mail marketing

No, e-mail marketing is not dead. It is more traditional but it still is a powerful tool. Send relevant and useful information to your clients, and once you have a sizeable list, you can use that list to drive your subscribers to your site.

  1. Just do it

Magical things will only happen if you act. If you incorporate these steps to your strategy than I promise you that you will increase your traffic tenfold.

While reading this post you might have noticed that we continually talked about sharing USEFUL content with your customers. Content that is valuable to them. You won’t get anywhere with posting random stuff on your channels. Make sure your posts, podcasts, videos address your customers’ issues or needs. You may also get hundreds of likes on Facebook post with a cat video but it will not help with conversion (another future topic). Oh, and take a look at how many of the aforementioned strategies are incorporated on our site 😉

We hope you enjoyed this post and if you found it useful then I invite you to share with others you think might find it useful as well. Also, I invite you to follow us on our social media channels and to subscribe to our newsletter. We want to help your business grow!
